{"id":226,"date":"2025-03-31T16:31:43","date_gmt":"2025-03-31T16:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs-in-pr.co.uk\/jobs\/?p=226"},"modified":"2025-04-15T10:18:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T10:18:17","slug":"how-to-get-a-job-at-jack-grace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jobs-in-pr.co.uk\/jobs\/posts\/how-to-get-a-job-at-jack-grace\/","title":{"rendered":"How to get a job at Jack &amp; Grace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\" id=\"block-15faeb13-1614-41a0-8b5e-fc255df6ebe8\"><em>This month we speak to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/nyreeambarchian\/?originalSubdomain=uk\">Nyree Ambarchian<\/a>, Co-Founder, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jackandgrace.co.uk\/\">Jack &amp; Grace<\/a>, about what they look for in a hire.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-10a13e08-3850-4638-9776-e40233d7956f\"><strong>What motivated you to start Jack &amp; Grace and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were fed up of being told it\u2019s impossible to make a business work if you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only use public relations as a force for good, for clients making a positive impact in the world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ditch loads of the \u2018rules\u2019 of work \u2013 for example like requiring people to be in London<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prioritise people and planet equally with profit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We started Jack &amp; Grace to test out the things our previous bosses had told us were impossible over the years. (It turns out it is all possible!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do you land a job at Jack &amp; Grace?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We work quite differently to lots of other agencies \u2013 we\u2019re remote first, spread all over the country; we offer all roles part-time as standard (you can work full-time but you need to request it); we have salary transparency; and work super-flexibly based on each individual\u2019s needs. You need to be comfortable with all that because it\u2019s not for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re small (there are 12 of us now) so we don\u2019t have loads of roles. But the best way to get on our radar is to email us: hello@jackandgrace.co.uk and keep an eye&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/jackandgrace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on our LinkedIn<\/a>&nbsp;as we advertise new roles there first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What piece of work are you most proud of and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/countrytrust.org.uk\/plantyourpants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plant Your Pants<\/a>&nbsp;campaign for charity, The Country Trust, will always have a special place in my heart. Planting cotton pants is a brilliant way to test soil health and a hilarious experiment for children to learn about nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We got loads of media coverage (getting BBC Radio 4\u2019s Justin Webb to talk about his pants on the Today Programme will always be a career high), but seeing children afraid of mud, dirt, and insects suddenly transform and get their hands muddy with big grins on their faces \u2013 that was magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\" id=\"block-fc45b2bf-d144-4f47-b55f-8ba8aa8668a1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2363\" height=\"2363\" src=\"https:\/\/jobs-in-pr.co.uk\/jobs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Jobs-in-PR-Nyree-Ambarchian_Quote-Card-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-228\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s the best job advice you&#8217;ve been given for working in PR?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The very worst advice I ever received turned out to be the best advice. I was told by my boss I needed to put work ahead of my family to get ahead (my daughter was aged one at the time). That was the final kick I needed to set up Jack &amp; Grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To anyone else facing the pressure of juggling work and family\/life, you don\u2019t need to put work first. If you\u2019re being told that (overtly or through culture\/behaviour from colleagues) call it out \/ leave.
