In October, we found 93 jobs in PR

From agencies including Brands2Life, Syneos Health and CityPress

The public relations agency job market has whiplash. It’s shifted from boom to break within 60 days.

After a strong August with 121 job postings among the top 50 UK agencies, there was a notable pullback to 93 positions in October – a decline of more than a quarter.

It’s a story about confidence, or more accurately, lack of confidence.

The post-election euphoria in the UK has been quick to dissipate. The Government’s caution on public finances, coupled with pre-budget jitters, has directly impacted confidence and hiring plans.

The decline has had the greatest impact on senior roles.  Junior-level (27 jobs) and mid-levels roles are holding up (49 jobs), accounting for most current openings.

It suggests agencies are taking a pragmatic approach: continuing to build their talent pipeline through entry and mid-level recruitment while being more cautious about senior-level investment.
