In May, we found 101 jobs in PR

From agencies including Portland, Havas and Edelman

We publish a list of jobs at the biggest UK public relations agencies each month. Make sure you subscribe if you’re looking for a new role.

As we compile job ads, we’re building a unique dataset that provides a means of understanding the dynamics of the UK public relations industry. Jobs are a key indicator of a sector’s economic performance.

This is the third month we’ve published the Jobs in PR newsletter. We’re starting to spot patterns in the data.

The first notable story is a gradual slowdown in job ads from 139 positions in March to 103 in April and 101 in May.

Junior and senior roles have seen a more significant reduction than mid-weight positions, suggesting a shift in hiring priorities or budget reallocations within agencies.

The consistent listing of internships and entry-level positions indicates an ongoing investment in new talent. This is positive for those entering the industry.

Less than one in five ads contains salary information, contrary to the progressive industry narrative on diversity. I’ll return to this issue in future commentary.
