In June, we found 99 jobs in PR

From agencies including Publicis Pro, Tyto PR and Distinctive Communications

The number of job openings in our dataset of the largest public relations agencies in the UK has held steady at around 100 per month over the last quarter after dropping by around a third in March.

The dataset has an underlying strength. A consistent level of hiring at BCW, Edelman, FleishmanHillard, Hill+Knowlton and Weber Shandwick is a positive sign for the overall public relations industry.

This hiring information from the largest agencies in the UK is a barometer for the health of the broader market for corporate communications and public relations services.

Positive economic data and the announcement of an election date are driving optimism in the UK economy.

The latest Lloyds Bank Business Barometer reported business confidence reached its highest level for over eight years. Confidence increased by 8 points – up to 50% –  a level last exceeded in November 2015.

The market for public relations services typically follows the economy by three to six months. We anticipate a resurgence in hiring in the second half of the year.

We’ll continue to monitor and share insights from the data as the story unfolds.
